MTM Investment Management is a boutique investment advisory firm, headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina. We serve as investment counsel to wealthy families, charitable endowments, and corporate retirement plans. The firm’s Principals are David C. Taylor and John P. Moore.

We provide a team approach to financial planning, offering our client’s a broad scope of expertise. Clients are our main priority, which is why we work to understand your unique circumstances and ultimately create a distinctive plan that provides a roadmap for your financial journey.
Our goal is to integrate economic, financial, and geo-political factors into a comprehensive investment strategy to preserve and enhance our clients’ wealth. As a fee-based advisory firm (with no proprietary products), we design and customize each plan specifically for the client’s individual situation.
Our Roots:
McHam, Taylor, Moore (MTM) traces its history back to Gary McHam’s (originally from Inman, SC) return to Spartanburg from New York in 1990. Gary returned home after a successful career with Smith Barney in New York, attaining the highest levels of achievement the company offered investment advisors at that time.
Gary hired David Taylor, formally of Merrill Lynch, in 2001 eventually forming the firm McHam Taylor & Co. in 2006. The firm experienced steady asset and client growth. In January 2017 John Moore, formally of the family office Moore Capital, was hired by the firm. McHam Taylor Moore (MTM) was founded in September 2018 by David Taylor and John Moore, following Gary McHam’s retirement.
The former independent Raymond James branch office, Foster, Towson and Company, merged into MTM in 2020. Jim Burchfield and Joe Towson joined the firm, as Partners and members of the firm's Investment Committee.
